Meet Abby!

Abby is 5 years old (approx. DOB 4-15-17), female, 50 lbs., vetted, is or will be spayed, and micro-chipped. Abby has the misfortune of being a victim oof a breakup where she is no longer wanted in the new dynamics and her original adoptive mom, who loves her immensely, is not allowed to have her back in her apartment due to breed restrictions. Abby is urgent to find a new home as soon as possible! In her current dynamic she is good with most dogs (but would need a patient dog with her energy and rough play style), has a prey drive (no cats please), has medium+ energy, is socially outgoing, is crate trained, potty trained, loves her heavy duty chew toys, and is at times expressive (no apartments please). She knows Sit, Stay, Come Here, Ride (she knows to sit still for her harness), and is the biggest lovebug of all lovebugs. She just wants to crawl inside of you. She doesnt know what personal space is at all. This can be a problem when she meets new people. Abby likes to be loved back and seems needy at times but she is by the far the most loving dog! She doesnt like to be ignored and will do anything she can to interrupt what youre doing to get your attention lol! She barks and "talks back" if you give her a directive she doesnt like. Shes amazingly smart. Abby needs someone who will utilize that brainpower to help with her ongoing training and give her the exercise and attention she needs. Abby would love a rural home so she doesnt get overstimulated by too much action. She needs a place where she can roam; a fence would be a bonus! Stay tuned for more information as Abby is a new rescue!

Disclosure:

Breed labels are often incorrect: we rarely know the genetic lineage of the dogs we rescue. Many shelters and rescues specify breeds based on appearance; however, research has shown that less than 2% of a dogs DNA determines appearance!

Passion 4 Paws does not practice the use of labels pertaining to compatibility with others or dog breed. Labels such as "dog friendly" and "child friendly" should be used with caution as they often over-simplify the personalities and behavior of dogs.
