BACKGROUND: L’il Miss Nelly was born on the streets of Egypt.  Her mom was run over by a car.  She didn’t survive.  Another street cat nursed Nelly and her brother (Prince Archimedes who is also posted here on Petfinder) until they were old enough to eat on their own.  As soon as they were big enough to survive on their own, they were rescued from the streets.  They were adopted out to a family but as happens so often in Egypt, the family moved out and abandoned them.  They were back on the streets.  Again, the lady took them off the street but this time, she was not going to adopt them to anyone in Egypt.  

PERSONALITY: Nelly is a very sweet and sensitive girl.  She loves humans.  Once she feels safe and secure with you, she loves, loves, loves, to be cuddled.  

She will greet you when you come home, sleep with you in bed at night and hang out with you on the couch watching TV.

Typical of a Turkish Van, Nelly is super smart and very athletic.  She adores chasing balls and playing with string toys.

She also gets great joy out of looking out the window and watching the squirrels and birds do their thing outside.  

Gentle, calm and easy-going, this beauty gets along with other cats and is fine with children as long as they are calm and respectful (i.e. no pulling her tail or picking her up against her will).

IDEAL HOME ENVIRONMENT: L’il Miss Nelly would be best in a stable and calm home with or without children, with or without another feline friend.
