Description:
Whitney is the color of rich, delicious caramel, the really good kind made with real butter and dark brown sugar. She has golden eyes too and a smile that beams out happiness. She is as wonderful as her coloring! This 3 year (ish) old girl came up to Nebraska from an overcrowded kill shelter in Texas. She was heartworm positive, but is going through treatment with us. She will be done soon! Whitney is thrilled to have full run of the house and is respectful of things that arent hers. Shes crate trained. Naturally curious, she loves anything new -- places, toys, neighbors, and kids. She finds a pal to run and play with every time we go to the dog park and is starting to allow new people to pet her. She walks well on leash but will also stay close if shes off leash. Whitneys a real snuggler. Shell curl up next to you in the evening and sleep next to you on the bed. Periodically during the day, shell come up quietly for a cuddle and some face time. She has very good manners and will wait patiently for her meals and treats. Since she figured out her foster homes potty schedule, shes pretty much housebroken now. She has an obsession with playing in water and doesnt mind being bathed or groomed. Hose water? Heck yes! And chewing on a knuckle bone is just the best thing. Whitney is about 50lbs. She is kid and dog friendly. Spayed, microchipped, fully vetted, and vaccinated. She is ready to meet her forever family!
To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $300 donation is requested at the time of adoption. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check, obedience training agreement, and signing of adoption contract. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. Our dogs are companion animals that live indoors as part of your family. Please do not apply if your plan is to have them as outside dogs, garage dogs, porch dogs or outside kennel dogs. We do not ship dogs.
All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try to email first. We are all volunteers that work so we can not easily take or make phone calls.
