Rose has tested positive for heartworms and will need treatment. We do offer a $100 voucher to go towards treatment.

While Heartworms are easily prevented, they are also easily contracted. If an animal is not on heartworm prevention medication, a simple mosquito bite can transmit the disease and give your pet a potentially fatal diagnosis. If your pet is bitten and does not have protection, microscopic larvae will enter the bloodstream and eventually end up in the heart, lungs and blood vessels. If gone untreated, this disease if fatal. The transmission of heartworm disease increases during summer, but you should always make sure your pet is protected. The disease is treatable, however, prices for treatment vary, depending on your vet.


Services included with the $30 adoption fee:

Spay or neuter, surgery related pain medications, Rabies, DA2PP, and bordetella vaccinations, one month of flea and tick prevention, one month of heartworm prevention, one dose of generic dewormer, testing for heartworms, and a microchip.

We are open for walk ins from 10am to 5pm, 
Monday – Saturday. We stop all adoptions and visitations 30 mins to close.  

All adoptions interest, we recommend that you arrive between 9:45 and 10am, if we have more than 1 person interested in an animal, we will hold a raffle drawing. We are not able to do any holds and we are not a first come first serve basis.
