****PETronus Rescue endeavors to include all pertinent information for each of the dogs within our organization with regard to approximate age, potty training status, kennel training status, temperament, activity level, dog/cat friendliness, etc in an effort to give those considering adopting as much information as we have. It is likely that we do not have the answer to any other questions, but will do our best **** Meet Chloe. Chloe is estimated to be about 7 years old. She was saved from a local shelter last year. She was in very poor shape and had what they thought was a prolapsed uterus. That ended up being CTVT, which is a type of cancer that is transmitted through mating: a doggy STD, if you will. 2 vets recommended that she be euthanized, but the 3rd started her on chemo treatment, and a year later, she is happy, cancer free, and ready to move on to the next chapter in her life. She is still heartworm positive and will not be able to receive the injection treatment series for a while yet (until her body has recovered from chemo), so is only available for adoption in TX. Info from her foster mom, who has had her for the last year: She loovveesss attention. If you start talking to her or bend down to pet her she wags her tail so hard that she walks sideways! She’s pretty mellow if she’s just lounging around but as soon as you give her attention she perks up and gets excited. She LOVES to cuddle, enjoys walks, and loves to bury her treats in blankets. She’s a very happy, tail wagging dog! They said they thought she was six last year but she’s got more energy when she gets excited than my 6 and 7 year old pups. Her favorite place is probably just sitting next to you while you pet her. If you stop petting her she nudges your hand with her face, she also gets excited and will run zoomies and play bow to get you to play with her. She is not very vocal, will only bark if someone comes to the door but stops as soon as we open the door. She is potty trained on pee pads since she couldn’t use the yard my other dogs use for a while but has never had an accident off the pee pads or when she hangs out with us in the living room. If there aren’t pee pads down she will wait for us to put more down. She hasn’t been able to be with other dogs and really full on play, due to her cancer treatment, but has never shown any signs of aggression when seeing or beating near other dogs (in the shelter, at the vet, and in her current foster home). ——————————— All PETronus Rescue dogs receive basic vaccinations (distemper/parvo, bordetella, & rabies), spay/ neuter, and microchip prior to adoption. We also treat any know medical issues, including heartworms. Our dogs live in foster homes while they wait patiently for their forever families to find them. This is beneficial in that they learn house manners, crate training, housebreaking, etc while they wait and we are also able to get a very realistic picture of their energy level, temperament, etc so that we can place them in a home that is the best fit. Our adoption fees are $200 for dogs over 1 year of age and $250 for dogs under 1 year of age. Puppies receive 3 rounds of puppy vaccinations. If you are interested in adopting one of our amazing dogs, please fill out our adoption application here http://bit.ly/PRAdoption and we will be in touch!
