This dog has special needs - they are heartworm positive. Dogs with heartworm disease can live happy, high quality lives as long as they are given appropriate care. We think that our heartworm dogs have just as much to offer their new adopters as any other dog and they deserve a chance at life! Heartworm disease is relatively common in the United States, so we are in need of caring adopters like YOU that are willing to open their home to a dog with heartworm disease. You are truly saving a life by adopting a heartworm positive dog! All heartworm treatment expenses are the responsibility of the adopter.COVID PROTOCOLS: Our doors are open in a limited capacity. We will be welcoming the public inside the HSCC facility with a maximum of 10 visitors at any one time. Masks will be required before entry. Please bring one, if you do not have one, we will gladly provide one for you. Our facility is small on the inside, and we want to continue to keep everyone safe!

ADOPTION PROCESS: The adoption process is simple and straight forward.

Our receptionists can usually approve/dis-approve your application same day. Once approved and everyone is in agreeance with the decision being made you then are able to pay your adoption fees. Adoption contract will be signed. If the pet has not been spayed/neutered or current on rabies vaccination prior to adoption, the pet you wish to adopt will not be able to go home same day as its adoption day.We will schedule thenext available appointment day & time - you will be informed with further directions/instructions at that time.

We hope this answers any and all questions you may have regarding the adoption process.
