Description:
Chicory is a Pointer mix estimated to be about 4 years old and 37 pounds, though she thinks she’s maybe 10 pounds as she jumps in your lap.

Chicory is a very smart girl who is potty trained and does well on a leash. She loves going for walks, taking boat rides, and going just about anywhere. Though she doesn’t like water after an unfortunate but somewhat comical incident of her chasing an egret into the bayou. She’s very happy to sit on the sofa with you too and even happier to smother you with kisses. She loves to snuggle in the bed at night and will wait for you to get out of bed in the morning. She does well with kids of all ages and loves to play with dogs. However due to her high prey drive, it’s recommended she not be with older, smaller dogs.

She’s a very happy, goofy dog. She loves all food and treats and playing with her toys. She’s spayed, up to date on all her shots and preventatives, and heartworm negative (when originally picked up from the shelter she had heartworms and underwent treatment so has now been negative for over a year).

Chicory is an amazing dog that would love to be a part of your family.

This dog is ready for her forever home!

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to please visit our website to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt

**Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, question, or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescues vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information.

2022 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals:
Puppies under 12 months - $350
Dogs over 12 months - $250

*Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match!
