Our adoption application is at the end of the bio. Please fill this out if you want more information or are interested in adopting. Peaches, spayed female, 2.5 years old, Retriever/lab mix, 60 lbs. She is in a foster home in Texas and can transport to the PNW with an approved adopter. Peaches loves to love. Her favorite pastime is laying on the couch between her foster mom/dad with 1 paw on each human. Wherever a human goes, Peaches goes. She loves belly rubs and prefers to be fed her dog food out of your hand. Peaches prefers a proper introduction to other dogs, she is a lady after all, but once introduced she is very polite and doesnt mind going on walks with other dogs. Shes been introduced to a large, very chill male and small, hyper female and was very kind and wasnt bothered by either dog and ignored them after her introduction. Peaches just wants to be a lap dog. Her foster mom works from home and she lays right next to her feet all day. She is crate trained and housebroken and will tell you when she has to go potty. Her safe spot is her crate and she will go on her own will to her bed at night when shes ready to go to sleep. Shes very soft mouthed and likes to carry her favorite sloth toy around but isnt totally sure how to play fetch yet. She would rather watch you throw the toy, go get it and bring it back. Peaches ideal home would be a quieter home where she can be the center of attention or a family with older kids (10 years and older) who have experience with more timid dogs. Shes the kind of dog that needs an introduction to other humans and dogs but as soon as shes been introduced she warms up within a few minutes and is wagging her tail and demanding pets. Shes good with cats and doesnt bother our cat at all. Her foster mom thinks shed enjoy another dog to pal around with. Shed be best with a confident dog that can teach her the ropes. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dogs exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** The first step in our process is filling out an application. We will review your application as soon as we are able- there are two of us and we do the best that we can. We review applications on a first come first serve basis and look for the best fit/match for the dog and applicant. https://heartoftheunderdog.org/adoption-application
