Description:
Meet Sweet Satiya!

Satiya is a beautiful little husky / shepherd mix puppy new to our rescue. Her foster dad calls her Tia. She recently arrived in Toronto from Northern Manitoba and was first rescued by the wonderful folks at K-9 Advocates (https://www.k9advocatesmanitoba.com). She is now in our care and is doing well.

Tia is approximately 14 weeks old (as of Sept 10th) and weighs 20 pounds.
She is a very friendly pup who loves to say hello to everyone she meets. She is playful, curious and full of endless puppy energy!

Tia’s adopters must be prepared to keep her busy with lots of daily exercise, stimulation and socialization. She is very smart and responds well to praise and treats.
Puppies love to chew and Tia is no exception - despite having lots of toys and supervision she may still choose to go after your shoe! She has the typical sharp puppy shark teeth! She is learning to not

Tia’s foster dad has left her alone for short periods of time (an hour or two) and she has been good. Puppies must be crated when left alone to ensure they are safe. She will whine a little bit but settles down. She can not be left alone for long hours during the day. Puppies need ongoing care and Tia’s foster dad takes her out every few hours to reinforce housetraining. Her adopters will have to continue with this training, it is going to be a work-in-progress for a while. Tia gets lots of positive training and consistency in routines. She has already learned a couple of commands! It is helpful that she is food motivated.

Tia is a husky mix and will likely be a very large and very active dog when fully grown. She loves to go for walks and play outdoors. An adopter with a house and a safely fenced back yard is recommended so she can have some outdoor time in between her walks and outings. She will require a lot of daily exercise and outdoor playtime to keep her happy and healthy! Her adopters must be able to provide her with lots of exposure to new people, dogs and situations in order to make her a social and friendly dog. She travels nicely in the car. Tia would do well in a home with another young, active, friendly dog that will want to play with her. We have not introduced her to cats.

Tia has been dewormed, microchipped and has had her first set of vaccinations. Tia still requires two more sets of vaccines and will need a follow-up deworming. A reminder that until she is fully vaccinated in about two months time she is vulnerable and should not be exposed to a lot of strange dogs.

** Tia’s bio may change as we learn more about her.

Please see our website (www.adoptadogsavealife.com) for information about our dog rescue and adoptions.
