Description:
Our “Shih-ty” week continues… introducing Helena! She was one of the most skittish and freaked out of the 15 Shih tzu/fox terrier mixes surrendered from one home when their owner was evicted, but is warming up nicely. She’s 6 years old, has probably had many litters, and came to us very urine stained with sticky slime coating her fur ?. She’s a gentle calmer girl for the most part, enjoys the company of her housemates as well as meeting new dog friends, and will make a great companion for a quieter adult home with at least one other doggie friend for her to hang with. These dogs can all be adopted in pairs with their former housemates, or to homes that have another compatible dog friend- she would be too insecure and anxious living without other dogs. Helena is just under 20lbs full grown and has been spayed and updated on shots. She’s been getting the hang of housebreaking following the other dogs in her foster home out into a fenced yard but will likely need some supervision and training to get her in a routine in her new home. She has a wiry lower shedding coat but not non-shedding and likely wouldn’t be a match for allergy sufferers. Email njwoof@cs.com to meet Helena by appointment in Northern NJ
