Description:
Hi! Im Rita, a 5-year-old Terrier mix who came to the shelter as a surrender with my best friend Charlie. Im really nervous of new people, but during my time here at the shelter Ive learned to trust people and open up a little bit. I still need a few treats to help me feel comfortable. My ideal adopter is someone who can help me and Charlie, we are inseparable. It will take me some time to acclimate to a new home and teach me how to build trusting relationships. I always feel more comfortable when Charlie is around. I have lived with dogs before, but Charlie is the only other dog for me! Im looking for a home where I can get all the attention and be a little bossy. Cats are not ideal for me. I would love to find a semi-quiet home with a secure yard. If youd like to meet me, please fill out an application and a Dog Adoption Counselor will contact you to schedule an appointment.

All of our available dogs are micro-chipped, vaccinated, spay/neutered and on preventatives for flea & tick and heartworms.

BHS adoption counselors are here to help you find your perfect furry friend. Unlike “pass/fail” adoption applications, we strive to match people and animals through education and discovery. We accomplish this by conversation to create an effective, pleasant adoption experience – and most importantly, to make lasting matches.

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
