Breed: Terrier / Maltese mix Age: 5 yrs. Weight: 14 lbs. Good with dogs: yes, if they give her space Good with cats: yes Good with kids: no Energy level: medium Good with men/strangers: yes Hypoallergenic: yes Special home requirements or medical: GG has a bite history and due to her resource guarding of food she needs a confident person who is able to work with her on this. They need to have the time to hand feed her to help her get on the right track. She also needs a calm and quiet environment. Additional info: We dont know what happened in Glitters past life that caused her to develop trust issues, but were hoping that there is someone out there that is willing to show her that she can trust again. She does have a bite history due to resource guarding issues as well as barrier aggression. This means that she needs pretty strict boundaries and routine until she opens up and trusts. The key is showing her that you are not there to take away from her but instead you are the one to give resources to her. She walks well on leash but isnt a fan of long-distance walking, just a quick stroll around the neighborhood will do. But she can play fetch for hours if the weather is right and this is the best way to win her over, so we are looking for a home that has a secure yard. Glitter does not do well in a crate due to her barrier and resource guarding issues, so she is currently in a pen where she has more space and we find she is less reactive this way and much more relaxed. Glitter does seem to choose one person that she finds to be her favorite so she will do best in a one-person household, but a couple is great as well. She is great with other dogs her size that are calm and/or give her space since she is not interested in playing and prefers to coexist. Glitter is a charmer once she gets to know you, but she needs a confident person that will help her trust but still give her the structure and boundaries that she needs to thrive.
