Brayleigh means "ray of hope" and we think this name is fitting for this special needs dog who has been through so much. We rescued Brayleigh and her 8 puppies from TN when we learned of this poor mama who had been shot (x-ray showed bullet and bone fragments). Despite the pain she was in, she was doing her very best to care for and protect her pups. Its understandable that this trauma has caused Brayleigh to be very scared and not trusting of humans. But she is a work in progress and there is a hope in her eyes that she can once again trust people. Her pups have all been adopted and we would really love to find her a loving and patient home. Our vet and trainer believe she will progress much faster in a private home where she can benefit from 1:1 attention. An ideal home would be a quieter home as the only pet, with someone who is home a lot and can spend time working with her, bonding and earning her trust. She is afraid of being leashed so a fenced in backyard would be ideal. We do not recommend a home with smaller children. If you are patient and loving and would be willing to invest some time in this sweet girl, we know that she will pay you back 100-fold with unconditional love.
