URGENT! Gypsy needs a RESCUE HERO-she has been with us for AN ENTIRE YEAR, and she needs to find a forever home ASAP!! Is there anyone out there with the right home for this beautiful little girl? Gypsy will be attending our adoption event on Saturday, October 22 from 2 pm-5 pm at Pet Supplies Plus, 2480 Albany Avenue in West Hartford. Please stop by for a visit! If you would like to fill out an application or have any questions, please send an email to us at: info@ht-ac.org Gypsys young owner became pregnant, had to move in with a family member, and could no longer take care of her. She is currently in a foster home in Berlin with another young female cat. She is an adorable, sassy little tortoiseshell, and absolutely LOVES to play-her antics are quite acrobatic and entertaining! She needs to live in an adult household without children. She is friendly and affectionate, loves to curl up in laps and snuggle up against legs in bed, and likes attention on her own terms-she is the queen! She does not like to be picked up or held. She eats canned food only, as dry food can cause constipation. Gypsy has some special needs. She has a lot of anxiety when she leaves the house, and needs to be sedated prior to vet visits. Gypsy lives life on her terms. What does this mean, you may ask? Well, it means that when she wants attention and sits in your lap, she wants to stay as long as she wants to stay, and will get cranky if you move her. It means that when she is doing just fine by herself, she would prefer it if you maybe give her a quick pat on the head and then go on your merry way, leaving her undisturbed. This kind of kitty relationship is not desirable for a lot people, as they prefer to have a pet on their own terms, which is understandable. However, Gypsy needs a very special someone who will be happy with an intelligent, playful, fickle, autonomous companion. Gypsy is 3 years old, and has been spayed, vaccinated for rabies/distemper, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV.
