NO JUDGMENT ZONE! Wait. What’s that AUBREY? Oh. Nevermind. Aubrey plans to judge you. She’s interviewing for a roommate and has discriminating tastes. When she says “roommate,” that’s what she means. She doesn’t need a parent bossing her around; she wants to be the boss of herself and needs someone who understands boundaries. Did she say roommate? She meant servant. She will teach you how to behave and how to properly meet her needs. Once she trusts you, she loves to be petted and scratched. But she actually is a gorgeous, long-haired cat and her hair has matted in the past and hurt when touched (hence the groomer’s lioness cut at the moment), so she is still cautious and reluctant to be manhandled, which is one reason why young children would not be ideal for her. Aubrey is very perceptive and smart, and enjoys watching humans toil and clean her cage. She’s very curious and when her cage is open, she loves getting a peek at her neighbor and sneaking a paw in their cage. Despite first impressions, Aubrey really does want your attention and likes talking and human interaction. I’ve never observed any overt aggression from her – her typical reaction to me violating her rules (yes, I couldn’t resist touching that luxurious primordial pouch) is to hiss and pierce my soul with a “YOU KNOW BETTER THAN THAT!” glare. Aubrey is really one of my favorites, because she’s one of a kind. When she decides you are worthy enough to serve her, you somehow feel like you’ve accomplished something in this lifetime. Aubrey deserves a home. Contact the HUMANE SOCIETY OF RAY COUNTY to adopt Aubrey!
