Poor Asher was found badly injured and taken to an Emerency Vet Clinic then transport to a local vet while Animal Control looked for a rescue organization to take him. Four days after his initial injury, he was about to be euthanized when SPOT heard about him. The vet clinic staff were so in love with this dog and so grateful to have him get a chance to recover that they donated everything they could toward his vet care and surgery! His back leg was badly broken and something needed to be done, so the decision was made to amputate it instead of waiting for specialty surgery. Twentyfour hours later, Asher went into a SPOT foster home to recuperate ... and immediately stole their hearts too. This boy is really special! Hes still young and puppyish, he loves his toys and wants to play. Hell keep a smile on your face just watching him entertain himself. He loves other dogs - especially if they will play with him, he loves all people - especially if theyll play with him ... but cuddles are next on his list of favorites. He loves riding in a car. Hes very well housetrained and nicely food motivated but respectful of another dogs rites-to-bites. He may be missing a leg but hes overflowing with doggy charm and charisma. He doesnt seem to miss that backleg, he runs like a gazelle. His only limitation is what his sensible foster imposes on him for caution while he continues to recover. Asher would love a home with fun people and another similar sized or smaller dog - a much larger, rambunctious dog might be fun but physically he does need to be aware of wrestling weight limits. This boy is such a dreamboat! If you like the bullies and have the heart for a true rescue, Asher will be a treasured pet! Stats: American Bulldog, neutered male, current on vaccinations & parasite control, microchipped. Age: 2 yrs old Weight: 55 lbs (thin) Adoption fee: $375.00 If interested in ASHER, please go to our website, www.savingpetsoneatatime.org, to submit a dog adoption application.
