Description:
Brock was picked up as a stray and landed in a South Carolina shelter where he waited for months before finally being rescued and transported to Vermont to start a new life. Brock is currently in a foster home and has completed level 1 and 2 life skills training. His foster Mom has been working hard to strengthen his skills and help him gain more confidence around new people. While Brock is cuddly, affectionate, and a loyal companion to his people, as he is maturing through the teen stage has become leery and fearful of strangers and can be reactive if he is uncomfortable. Brock is searching for a special adopter, one who appreciates that not all dogs are happy go lucky meeting new people and need some planning and management with interactions while working through this stage.

Brock is very smart, picking up sit, down, stay, come, middle and is progressing nicely with go to mat and loose leash walking with a gentle leader. He is working on maintaining focus in new and/or distracting situations. He loves his crate and is content to chill out in his crate when his human(s) are away or busy. Brock has lived with and gets along with other friendly dogs with proper introductions. With his rough and tumble play style, he should be carefully matched with doggy playmates. He loves going for walks and hikes with other furry friends, and would really enjoy a jogging partner. His favorite game is "tug", and he also loves retrieving the tug toy if you toss it.

Brock would do best in an active adult only home, with breed experience, who will continue training, provide routine and stability, and follow a consistent management plan to help set him up for success as he settles into a new environment. We will provide assistance with matching Brock’s adopter with a trainer and will cover a training class or in-home consults to get Brock off to a good start in his new home.

Brock’s DNA results reveal that he is full American Bully, view his DNA profile here: http://embk.me/brock61?utm_campaign=cns_ref_dog_pub_profile&utm_medium=email&utm_source=embark Approximately 1 year old; 65lbs. FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
