Charlie was left in a carrier on the shelter dock as a kitten with his mother and siblings. He is polydactyl, which means he has extra toes! Charlie was previously adopted in 2020, but due to hard times, his heartbroken adopter surrendered him back to Windmill in January of 2022. From his first adopters "We havent had any health issues at all. He uses the litter box like a champ and doesnt seem to be picky about litter types. He loves food and is a slow eater- hes pretty slow moving most days but gets excited about hunting socks or mittens every so often! His favorite spot is curled up by the window and he stretches his front paws out and looks quite regal and relaxed. Sometimes you can catch him nodding off with his head bobbing. He is skittish around new people, and likes to have hiding spots for comfort and will warm up if you let him come to you, same for pets. If you reach down to pet him hell take a few steps away then flop on his side. He is good with nail trims too, one paw at a time. We call him chirpy Charles, because he has the sweetest chirp meow. Hes also Sir Charles and Charlie Barley Bear." Unfortunately, the owners assessment of Charlies health was incorrect, and he came to us a very sick kitty with a low prognosis for recovery. He received lots of love and care from one of our fosters and is now ready for a forever home. He needs to be on soft food twice a day, and does best with N&D from Farmina. Charlie does indeed love snuggles and is such a good kitty. He is doing well with the fosters young dog also. Because Charlie is currently housed in a private home, an application will need to be submitted before the contact information can be shared. Thank you for understanding! Charlie is neutered, tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, and all vaccinations are current. He is not declawed. If you are seriously interested in adopting Charlie or another pet, please come in and hang out with the animals so that you can get to know their personalities. Adoption information and fees can be found on our website: http://www.windmillanimalrescue.com. Please send an email to windmillanimalrescue@yahoo.com for the application.
