Meet Chipper!

Within hrs of being contacted to rescue Chipper, we rushed him to our urgent care vet in very critical condition. Chipper is gravely emaciated, malnourished & dehydrated.  Chipper has a Body Score of 1 out of 9 = dangerous emaciation.  Chipper is severely dehydrated and is receiving IV fluids + electrolytes.  His CBC panel shows abnormal levels across the board consistent being emaciated.

Chipper was flea-infested causing multiple sores on his body & ears.  He was given a Capstar and a medicated bath to remove the dead fleas.  Chipper has a heart murmur – after x-rays were taken, his team of doctors believe the murmur is the result of emaciation/malnutrition.

Chipper is also being given meds to help him relax and get some much-needed rest.  He has started a very regimented re-feeding plan.

To say the vet staff is in love with Chipper is an understatement.  They adore him!  The head vet even took pictures with him where he kissed her all over. Chipper is a beautiful, gentle, docile boy.  He is so loving, in spite of being failed by humans.

Chipper is now in the care of his medical foster on and being monitored by a medical team.
