This little guy is honestly just about perfect!!! He is SO sweet!!! BUT!! Definitely a Staffie Embers not very big - all of 50 pounds (needs to lose a cpl pounds ) and he is solid - his back is about a foot high, head about 20 He had several issues when he came here - unfortunately I placed Ember in a less than ideal location - and being too thin was one of them, but hes certainly not now! Some good food, treats, love and affection worked wonders Hes just as sweet as can be, seeks affection and once he gets comfortable his real - and very bouncy lol - personality starts to shine through Hes very friendly, is fine with most other dogs but slow introductions are a must, he has a true Staffie personality and tends to be impatient. He is very very food motivated and is easily redirected while on leash - can still be a bit stubborn about recall or release while off. Has zero interest in playing any kind of fetch but loves to chase anything small and living. ABSOLUTELY NO cats, birds and no mice/guinea pig type pets - he will chase and get them if he can. He does love to chew and socks need to be watched! He loves to be with his human and will happily chew on a toy while sitting next to you getting pats He almost prances when he goes outside off leash On leash he will pull some if you let him - Hes MUCH better now but will get stubborn if allowed too much. Weve worked on several things and he now sits and waits for the door to be opened, looks for the okay and walks nicely in/out - his new family will need to continue with that or hell get unruly quick, after all he is a very smart (and stubborn) little Staffie Ember isnt fond of the cold - wants to do his business and head back inside after a few minutes Now that its warming up hes loving it outside!! Ember would make a great walking/jogging buddy but due to his prey drive hed not do well off leash. Ember NEEDS the right home to help him reach his full potential. He is somewhat crate dependent- it is very much his safe spot and after an hour out wants back in it. If the door is open hell stay in it so keeping him occupied until he fully relaxes in his environment will be an important part of his full rehab His size makes him perfect for a condo, apt or townhouse as long as his human is active and takes him for long interesting walks Older kids okay - hes a little high energy for small children unless its a very breed experienced adopter Ember is crate trained, potty trained, knows sit, wait and has done really well with learning his manners! Hes very smart and needs someone with confidence!
