Our adoption application can be found at the bottom of this pets bio. Once your application has been approved we can arrange a meet & greet with you & Chex! Chex is currently in a foster home in Snohomish, WA and is eligible for meet & greets! Meet Chex! Chex is a 4.5 year old male heeler mix. He is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated and ready to find a family to call his own! Chex is being surrendered to us by his family. His family has had him for all 4.5 years of his life, but now that they have a small child they feel it is best for Chex to live in a child free home. Chex would THRIVE in a calm & quiet home. He is startled by loud noises and lots of commotion (kids running around screaming or playing). Chex is a handsome boy with soulful eyes. He is a good, lovable boy with the silliest personality. Chex likes to have rules and a routine, but also loves to have fun! He is smart, well trained and knows lots of commands. Chex is crate trained at night, but would be so happy sleeping in bed with you. He LOVES to swim, fetch and tug. His energy level is very adaptable. He can go for hikes or just spend all day at home with a short walk. He loves being outside, but mostly loves being with his people. His current family takes him to the dog park, but suggests a home without other dogs. At the dog park he mostly just plays with his family, but will occasionally find a friend who he likes to run around with. He likes other calm dogs who are not in his face. Hes not a fan of rambunctious puppies or high energy dogs and will get snippy with them. He does seem to be fine with slower and older dogs who arent in his face. Everyone who has met Chex has adored him. He does seem timid upon initially meeting people, so a patient family would be best for Chex. He just needs to be slowly introduced so he can see that youre not going to hurt him. If you have a high traffic household, this might not be the best fit for Chex. Chex responds to gentleness and kind words better than anything else. We would love to find a loving home for Chex. His previous family has even offered to dog sit if his new family ever needs a dog sitter. The reason Chexs family is rehoming him is because he nipped their baby after the child cornered him while Chex was eating. We imagine Chex felt threated being backed into a corner because he has never had an issue with his mom or dad handling his food. Interested in learning more about Chex or applying to adopt him?
