Alaric is a 1 1/2 year old male Heeler mix that was adopted from here and loved his new life, but became too protective over his new family.  Alaric is a Heeler and was doing "Heeler things" that unfortunately did not fit with their family life.  He will need someone that has extensive Heeler experience as he is a very smart and needs a leader that understands Heeler ways.  Alaric loves to be active and enjoyed the activity of the farm and will not tolerate being crated.  He loves to be outside so would probably do best with a fenced area that could contain him if a new owner had to be away for a couple hours.  However, he can go over a 4 foot fence so he will need a 6 foot privacy fence or invisible fence.  He has learned several commands and is always working on manners.  He can get along with other dogs, but may be too rough for a cat.  Alaric has a lot of good potential for an experienced and active dog lover.
