Description:
Check him out!! Magnificent Merle Aussie ready to find his perfect home!!

Lake or “Lakeland” is a 15 week old, super smart boy that is up to ANY challenge! Hes a sucker for belly rubs, training, and playtime!

Lake is HIGH energy and we are looking for a home that will keep this guys mind and body busy with continual training - regular agility - daily running - brain games. So that he can grow to be his best self. Apartments and condos will NOT be considered for Lake as he requires a large yard to run, play and train. Applicants with a fenced yard are highly desirable.

Lake is a friend to every species, and won’t let his size keep him from running with the big dogs! Because of his high energy, the crate has become a positive space that he needs for downtime, on and off throughout the day. His adopter will need to work at home or have limited work hours outside of the home as we have found a consistent, active daily routine has created successful house & crate training and good behavior for Lake. Being home to recognize Lakes "potty" signals throughout the day will also keep him on the path to continued success! He walks well on a leash with a harness or collar, and is choosing to “sit” for attention instead of jumping. He also rides great in a car! He is in the process of learning not to guard his food and crate from other dogs and will need continued work in this area.

Again, due to Lakes breed, high level of energy and the need to have a "job", we are looking for a home that will keep this guys mind and body busy with continued training - regular agility - daily runs - brain games. So that he can grow to be his best self. Apartments and condos will NOT be considered for Lake as he requires a large fenced yard to run, play and train.

BEFORE CONSIDERING A PUPPY FOR ADOPTION: Please keep in mind that puppies need attention during the day. They need frequent potty breaks, playtime, socialization and often a mid day meal. Please consider your daytime schedule before applying for a puppy.

SPAY/NEUTER POLICY: Our adoption fee covers the puppies spay or neuter at our vet in Libertyville. If the puppy is adopted prior to the spay or neuter being done you will be required to bring the puppy back to our vet within 30 days for the surgery.

ADOPTION FEE: $425.00 The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations including rabies, HW test if age appropriate, de-worming, microchip, fecal, spay or neuter, Heartworm and flea and tick preventative.

ADOPTION PROCESS: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application online at www.placingpawsrescue.org.
Once we review the applications, those applicants that are thought to be a good match will be contacted as quickly as possibly. We ask that you please be patient with us as we are all volunteers. Then a telephone interview will take place, references checked and a home visit will be conducted. We will then arrange for you to meet the dog. We require that all family members, including current dogs meet the dog prior to adoption. We put all of the known information in the animals description. If the animal is listed on the website, we are still accepting applications for that animal. We only remove the animal when the final adoption paperwork is signed. The best way to contact us is by email at placingpaws@yahoo.com. It is very difficult for the limited numbers of volunteers to return all calls. Thank you.
