Note: Dogs are pack animals and do not do well away from other members of their pack. The adopter is the alpha member of the pack, and the dog or puppy needs as much one-on-one contact with the alpha as possible. For this reason, all Route 66 Rescue Inc. dogs are adopted to inside homes only. They must be on leash, or inside a secure fence when outside, and not left outside alone when no one is home. Invisible fencing does not qualify as protection since other animals and strangers have access to the dog. The dogs must be returned to Route 66 Rescue, Inc. if ever given up by the adopter. Thank you for understanding we want only the best for the dogs you give a forever home Rusty is an 11 month old 30lb miniature Australian shepherd mix. Rusty has had some traumatic events in his life that have caused him to be a little fearful of people. He needs a patient adopter that understands herding breeds. He is still mouthy but doesnt bite. Once he warms up to you he will be by your side 24/7. Rusty loves to destroy plushies and fetch balls. He would do well in agility training. Rusty has a ton of energy so he will need a safe yard to run in. He does tend to play rough with other dogs. With a little training Rusty will be the perfect companion. For an adoption application, please email route66rescue@yahoo.com Rustys adoption fee is $200. Thank you for visiting our page. Pease come back soon.
