Almost Home Foster Kennels, MN Lic. 132328 is a 501c3, not-for-profit rescue organization. AHFK is located in SE Minnesota in the Austin/Albert Lea area. AHFK is primarily a Beagle and small dog rescue.

Our focus is to pull from High-Kill Shelters and to save those dogs that are at risk of euthanasia.

All AHFK adoptions require an approved, completed application, a Veterinarian and Personal Reference Check, and a home visit.

Our adoption fee is $425.00.
All our dogs are completed vetted, spayed/neutered, and microchipped.

We are currently accepting applications for Harley. Harley sat is a small, rural Kentucky animal shelter for nearly 6 months. A Beagle in a Kentucky animal shelter stands little or no chance of ever making it out. Beagles, for the most part, in the southern hunting states view the Beagle or hunting hounds as commodities. They are not a family member. They are not viewed as a “pet” to be loved and cherished and to be included in the family gatherings and activities. They are kept, primarily, in rabbit cages and huts. They see the light of day when it is time to hunt or to breed, then returned to their dark, unsocialized dungeon.

And so it is, Harley is one of the lucky ones. Harley made it out of the shelter and more importantly, out of Kentucky. Harley was pulled and rescued by Almost Home Foster Kennels.

Harley is approximately 1-2 years in age. He is still learning the manners of home-life. He gets along with other dogs; he shares a yard with 5 others. He is doing well on crate training; a slower process given that he was incarcerated in a 3x3 kennel for 6 months and possibly a rabbit cage prior.

Harley is a beautiful, tricolored Beagle that will make a wonderful family member. We are looking for a home with a securely fenced yard, because he is a Beagle, and another fur-sibling would be wonderful.

Meet and greets are scheduled upon approved, completed application. If interested in Harley, please request an adoption application/agreement via email: dianneahfk@gmail.com
