Bucky came to us with a horrendous neck wound. His previous owners stated he was bit by a snake, and instead of taking him in for proper medical care, they attempted to treat the wound at home. It became infected and necrotic. So he wound up at the shelter facing euthanasia due to simple negligence. Unfortunately, he is also heartworm positive. But he is ready to get into his fur-ever home in a foster-to-adopt situation. Another local organization has sponsored the cost of his heartworm treatment, so if you choose this little fella, that cost will already be covered! He is a sweet and simply lap dog who likes to bark at the occasional bird or squirrel. Ideal for townhouse and apartment living! Vetting: All of our dogs are microchipped and UTD on vaccines: Distemper-Parvo w/Lepto, Bordetella, and Rabies (if age appropriate). They receive monthly flea/heartworm prevention while in our care and receive fecal and heartworm testing. Most of our dogs are de-wormed at least twice unless we receive negative fecal results. They are spayed or neutered or pending a spay or neuter (unless age or a health condition precludes this). Adoption Application: If you are interested in adopting, please visit our website for more information and to fill out an adoption application. A meet and greet cannot be scheduled until we receive and adoption application. No exceptions. Please consider fostering until you find the right pupper for you, especially if you are a first-time dog owner. With fostering, instead of saving one dog, you can help save 10 dogs!
