Description:
Athos is a Belgian Malinois who was surrendered when his owner could no longer care for him. He was surrendered with another dog but we recommend he be the only dog in the home as he has shown snippiness toward other dogs during meet and greets. Athos is trained in German for commands. He knows sit, down, stay, among others. He needs a very firm adopter with experience with the Malinois breed. Athos is a working dog and he needs a job. He is 7 years old so unfortunately police depts. aren’t interested. Due to the recent changes in his life and the stress of living in the shelter we want to emphasize that his behavior in the shelter is not indicative of what his behavior will be in a home. He is a good boy but doesn’t always present himself well in the shelter. The key to the perfect adoption for Athos will be someone with Malinois experience and the ability to spend time with him to show him he is ok and will be ok in a new home.
