Toby has been returned to us after being adopted from WAG, about 5 years ago. Since that time, he was in a loving home until he lost his human parents to illness and death. He is a large Black Mouthed Cur mixed breed and a bit overweight at this time at about 91 lbs. Toby had been very lonely coming back to the rescue after losing his family. He was very confused and stressed in the kennel environment. Thankfully, Toby has since been fostered into a wonderful home while we search for the perfect forever home for him. His foster home has other dogs and various other livestock and animals. His foster Mom reports that Toby enjoys being in the house a lot probably due to the heat outside. She says that he is still a bit timid with the other dogs and somewhat scared of the donkeys, but is a very good dog. He is learning to sit, stay, leave it and go in the crate. He also walks very nicely on a leash. While we had him at the rescue, he was a very affectionate, sweet boy and extremely polite. Toby will make the right family, a wonderful companion. He has been neutered, is heartworm negative, microchipped and a pretty healthy boy! Toby is looking for his forever home now. He would do well with older adults as Toby is a pretty low key dog and really just wants to be loved and to feel safe and secure. If interested in meeting Toby, please call us at 352-528-9888 to set up an appointment. We also offer our "Foster to Adopt" program. This program allows for someone interested in adopting a dog, to foster that dog for a period of time first, in order to see if the match is a good one. If the fostering period goes well, then the adoption can move forward.
