Meet Gus! This gorgeous guy is looking for his forever family, and wants his new people to know these 10 things about him:

1.\tI am a Boerboel and I am about 3.5 years old. 

2.\tThrough no fault of my own, I got bounced around A LOT before I came to the Bullpen.  When I ended up at a shelter in Missouri, I thought for sure it was the end of the line for me.  Much to my good fortune, however, the Bullpen found me and told me to come on down to Georgia!

3.  \tFor my breed, I am a pretty social guy that warms up to new people quickly after a slow, proper introduction.

4.\tIf my new family had a large, laid-back female dog that would be just fine with me.  I also wouldn’t mind being the only dog, and therefore the center of attention!  

5.\tI haven’t been around many cats since I got to the sanctuary, so I can’t say for sure how I would do in a feline-friendly home. 

6. \t Although I do like to play, I honestly prefer a calm and laid-back environment. An adults-only home would be ideal, but I think I could also live with kids over 10, as long as they weren’t too loud or rambunctious and had some previous experience/training with big dogs.

7.\tThe words that best describe me are sweet, affectionate, and loving.  

8.\tMy favorite things to do are chewing on bones, hanging with humans, and sunbathing.

9.\tI am housebroken and I know basic obedience and how to use a dog door.  I am great in a crate and pretty good on a leash.  

10.\t I am fully vaccinated, neutered, heartworm negative and microchipped.

Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting.  Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a "perfect placement" so we know that they will not be failed again.
