Scooter is a 2.5 year old, intact, male border collie/heeler mix. He is a little uncertain of new people at first, but warms up eventually. He is not a big fan of wearing a leash around his neck and might do better with a harness. Scooter seems a little dog selective and appears to prefer calmer, female dogs. He LOVES to play fetch and will even drop the ball at your feet!! He knows some basic commands like ""sit"", ""lay down"", and ""down"". Scooter has shown an interest in our cats here at the shelter and would probably do best in a home without small animals. He has also shown a little bit of resource guarding here, so a home with older children/teens who know how to give him his space would be ideal. He would make a wonderful hiking buddy once he builds that bond with his new family!
