Leo the Lionhearted! What is the definition of Lionhearted? It means extraordinarily courageous. Synonyms: brave, courageous. possessing or displaying courage; able to face and deal with danger or fear without flinching. That certainly describes Leo. We pulled him from the Livingston Parish Animal Shelter after he lost a leg and an eye when he was hit by a car. His owner relinquished him to animal control, possibly because of the expense for his surgeries and care. Not only does the fact he is now a one-eyed tripod NOT affect his courageous lion-like personality, but we have discovered that this was likely not the first time he was hit by a car. He has broken bones from a previous injury that had not been treated. And yet he was STILL chasing cars. He also has "little man syndrome" as he does not back down from a bigger dog. Well Im here to tell you, Leo, be as brave and courageous as you want to be but from now on, you will have a human who will be your protector. We will see to that. Leo is 4 yrs old, 10 lbs., neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Good vet history, a securely fenced yard and a live or virtual home visit is required for approval.
