Hey Im Riley, a spunky, multifaceted chug (chihuahua/pug) mix in a short package. I came to Great Plains almost 8 years ago as a pup, and thankfully I was adopted! I loved my home, and I lived there all this time. Suddenly my owner passed away and I was taken back to the shelter again, devastated. Everything was so scary for me and I was so confused. But soon enough I learned that this place meant I got treats ALL THE TIME! 

I may be shy at first, but Im very eager to please, already know some commands and am eager to learn more! They say you cant teach an old dog new tricks, but for a 8 year old like me, that couldnt be further from the truth! 

I am friendly with most dogs and like to coexist. I have made 2 friends here at the shelter, one smaller than me and one a little bigger! I walk great on leash and love to explore! When Im happy, I like to hop around, rub against you like a cat, and do play sneezes! 

If youre looking for a dog who likes to be held, you may need to look elsewhere. I prefer all feet on the ground and have some problems with my back. The people here have given me medicine and stairs for me to get into my kennel. After all Ive been through, I dont let this stop me from being active and showing affection in other ways! Im not against sitting in your lap if youre on the floor- I secretly love it! 

Id love a home that can be patient with me and help me work through my fears. Ive spent some time with the CEO in her office building, and she says Im calm, quiet, clean, playful and curious all at the same time! I love to follow you, bouncing like tigger to greet my friends. Ive come a long way from the terrified dog I was when I first arrived, and cant wait to continue to blossom with my new family. 

Id love to spend my life relaxing in my forever home.
