------------------------------------------------------
Hi, my name is Riley and I’m a rat terrier mix and I weigh 10 pounds. I’m 12 years old but you’d never know it by looking at me and seeing how high I can jump.

I have one of the sweetest personalities ever!! My mom in Louisiana was so good to me and gave me a loving home but she had to give me up as she wasn’t able to care for me anymore.

I’m learning to do my business outside but I’m not perfect. Sometimes when I’m left alone, I can have accidents inside the house because I’m nervous about being alone. I hope you don’t mind having a shadow because wherever you go, I’ll be right behind you.

Now I’m in a nice foster home and there are other dogs here - I don’t mind them but I’m not that interested in them. But cats, no thank you – I don’t like them at all. I love all people and I especially love laying beside my person on the couch.

While I’m laying down, I need you to pet me all the time (I’m a little needy – okay, a lot needy). When you stop petting me, I’ll let you know that I’d like you to continue by either putting my little paw on your leg, making cute little squeaky noises or (the one that always works) is laying on my back and staring up at you with my big brown eyes. After a few hours of you petting me, I’m usually so relaxed that I need to take a nap under a nice soft blanket on the couch.

Although I’m pretty laid back and I don’t have a ton of energy, I do love me a good walk. When I’m on my walk and if we see some other doggies playing, I’ll join in for a bit but then I’d prefer to just continue on my walk.

I’m not the best listener because my mom never taught me to come when called (okay, sometimes I heard her but I was busy lounging and didn’t want to come)
but I’m sure I can learn.

It’s a must that I live in a house with a fenced in backyard because I like to spend a lot of time outside in the warm months before that horrible white cold stuff comes and covers the nice grass.

I love playing with those cute doggie toys and I’ve been getting a whimzee to clean my teeth every night which I really like. Now that I’m in the retirement phase of life, I would love to find a furever home with people who are either also retired or work from home because I really don’t like being alone.
