Meet Cooper! This misunderstood fellas been waiting on a family for OVER 2 YEARS.....Thats just unacceptable and we need your help to find the family thats going to give him the chance to show them just how amazing this fella is..

Cooper is 3 1/2 and hes been Fostering with us for over 2 years now. Coopers an odd one, he has trust issues, isnt fond of men until he really gets to know and trust them,he doesnt like to leave the house or his yard where he feels safe. Hes not big on car rides and he wont let strangers touch him. However, Coopers a love bug, hes a great snuggler, he loves to play ball, hes completely house-trained, kennels for a treat the minute hes asked to, he loves every other dog hes ever met (except one), he knows sit and stay and hes very well mannered in the house and hes happy to lay out beside you sunning all day. Cooper likes water, loves sleeping in the bed ( he likes to spoon), and loves blueberries. Cooper is an absolutely fantastic dog and if someone would give him the opportunity and time to settle in and earn his trust they would see just how fantastic he really is..

Cooper needs a specific home to suit his needs. A home with no young children and patient and understanding adults, although hes actually really good with kids over 8, even male kids, he does not give trust easily and kids can be impatient and grabby so we dont want him bothered with that. He needs a fenced yard and a patient family that will accept him for who he is.

When a potential home first meets Cooper, they need to understand that he is going to react one of two ways (we have seen it repeatedly with potentials and some just dont listen to our dont-try-to-engage-him suggestion). If you try to pursue or engage him so you can touch him, he will react by anxious barking and snarling at you. If you ignore him like hes not even there, he will eventually become curious and seek you out. We are looking for someone willing to do the latter. And if you do you will absolutely win him over and soon he will be leaning on you for love and a chin scratching...
