Hi friend, I’m Spears! I’m a loyal cuddle bug looking for my new best friend! 

I’m a real go-getter, I am always exploring and paying attention to everything! I have lots of energy, I could play all day! My foster family says I love to be the center of attention. I will take any pets and cuddles that I can and give you all the kisses in return. I am currently learning how to swim, but I still haven’t committed to going all the way in yet! 

I am already kennel trained, fully house trained and Im working hard on my leash skills. I do need someone who will take a class with me so it can set us both up for success, Ive had a couple of let downs in the past so Id like to start off on the right foot and Im sure my forever family wont mind. I can get a bit protective of my food and it can happen with treats or bones as well. My foster family is working on me having patience with food and learning boundaries. Boundaries are super important for me to learn, I bet taking a class together would set us all up for success. I would love to find a family who will keep working on this and socializing with me and can help me learn to be the best dog I can be, so a dog savvy adopter is a must! I am still building my confidence in new situations and with new people so Im hoping for a home with kids that are 12 years old or older. New people can be scary for me and I can sometimes express that with a few barks to let everyone know that Im uncomfortable, having a family who will advocate for me is the most important thing. I love when new people give me food and just ignore me until Im a little more comfortable. 

I get along great with other dogs my size. In fact, I think that I need to have a respectful dog to help teach me the ropes! I am hoping for a dog who is confident and a good match to my energy to help teach me the ropes. I get super excited when I see cats and small dogs so I try to play with them but can forget my manners and be a bit too much for them but I think I could do ok with super dog savvy cats with proper supervision.
