My name is Howie! I am 6 years old and 17 pounds. My foster parents think Im a dachshund/beagle mix.  I’m a very sweet boy and I follow my foster mom everywhere. I sleep all night in the bed with my foster parents. I just love to be by my human. I get along with other dogs and I am learning to not chase the cat. I love everyone I meet and I come when called. I know how to sit and I even gently take a treat from my foster parents hands. I am pretty much potty trained but since Im a boy, I had to try and mark my territory until my foster mom fussed me and then I got my feelings hurt. I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations, and ready to find my forever home!

**Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, question, or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescues vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information.

2022 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals:
Puppies under 12 months - $350
Dogs over 12 months - $250

*Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match!
