Meet Brownie! Brownies elderly owners in California were declining and taking care of Brownie started posing some challenges. They made the difficult decision to release him to rescue to find a new home. Brownie is looking for a dedicated foster or a forever adoptive home. If you are interested in fostering OR adopting Brownie, please read this full profile and complete the following online application: https://forms.gle/G4N4PPaDkHmEAxaKA Brownie appears to be a mix of Dachshund and Whippet (or Greyhound or similar), weighs around 40 lbs, and is about 8 years old. He is brown brindle with white markings. He has plenty of energy and loves to play and run, but spends the majority of his time hanging out or napping. Brownie came to rescue very underweight and with a knee injury but hes flourished in his foster homes and is now a healthy 40 pounds and his knee has healed well. He does have some hip dysplasia but is quite mobile and happy to play with his foster sister husky. Brownie will want a home where hes showered with love and attention. He will need a moderate amount of exercise. He is selective about his dog friends, preferring other dogs who are large, low-key, and calm. Unfortunately, due to his prey drive, Brownie is not suitable in a home with cats. He gets along with most dogs in the home that he gets to know (especially large dogs) but can be leash reactive when on walks. His new owners should be calm, firm, and confident, but also have a sense of humor for this dogs antics. Sweet Brownies adoption fee of $350 includes his basic vaccines, rabies vaccine, microchip, and neuter.
