Description:
Meet Chagall!

In June 2021 I was brought to Apollo by a neighbor that found me in horrible shape. It seems I was dumped on his property. I was dehydrated, starving, couldn’t walk because my pads were raw and I could barely open my eyes. That day the good people at the rescue fed me and gave me water. I also got a soft place to lay down and rest and I felt safe. I went to the vet and the doctor said I was going to be ok but I had an eye condition that would require surgery. Once I got stronger and healthier my surgery day came on Dec. 2021. I did great and can finally see without any pain.

Now I need to learn some manners and learn to live in a home. I would love to be an only dog in your house until I feel safe and gain some confidence. I love everyone I meet but I would probably do best in a home with older children. I walk great on a leash although I admit some days I just want to lie down and get belly rubs. I am stubborn about getting back up but I’m working on it.
I am a great loving guy that needs support, love and consistency. I need to learn many things but I am a fast learner and with treats and love I will be better than I am now.

At the rescue I’m a favorite and get lots of walks and time in the yard. I started playing with toys that I was scared of a few months ago. I have been crated and did pretty good while recovering but I would not like to be in one for long periods of time. A house with a yard I can sun bathe would be amazing. If you think I can be a good fit in your home please give me a chance. I am all healed from my entropian surgery, neutered and up to date on my vaccines.

Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided.

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
