The shelter has reopened during the week for visitation only from 7-9pm.  If you are intending to adopt, appointments are still being made on the weekends only. Purrlease call the shelter at 344-8808 & if someone is not there to answer your call, purrlease leave a message & a volunteer will return your call as soon as possible. At first he may elude you, with his shy, flirty nature, however Bobby will quickly swagger towards you with a swish-swish of his hips as he wraps himself around you. Bobby has taken some time to regain his confidence after being live-trapped, brought to AACC and then transferred to AHS. He has come full circle and when he feels safe & secure, Bobby will seek out the love, strut his stuff and share his sass. Bobby loves to encircle your legs with his adorable nature, however he will sometimes let you know he is done with a swat or two.  Bobby is a little spitfire and would do best in a home without young children. To help him learn to make more pawsitive choices, volunteers have been having Bobby redirect using various toys such as peacock feathers and other wand toys. The first important step is to disengage when Bobby does swat. This helps him to reset in a positive way and then you can rengage using one of the longer toys. We always want him to associate your hand with pets and comfort, while toys are something he is able to paw at. Bobby has made lots of positive progress and we are confident a home that will take the time to get to know him and provide him with the safety and security he desires, he will continue on that path. 




Our adoption agreement prohibits declawing an adopted cat, and stipulates that the cat will be returned to us if the adoption does not work out, or if the adopter is no longer able to keep the cat or give it necessary healthcare.

For the first 30 days, cats who do not work out in their new homes may be returned for a refund or exchanged for another, more suitable, cat.
