Description:
Handsome DALWHINNIE is looking for a human family to provide warm laps and patient, loving care. His soft medium-length black fur is perfect for petting. Dalwhinnie loves nothing more than snuggling on a lap. Hell follow you around the house, just waiting for you to sit down so he can make himself comfortable on you. If you are settling down and not paying attention to him, he will give you little love taps with his paw to alert you to his need to be on your lap. Dalwhinnie is not shy at all. He is the unofficial greeter at his foster persons office and happily makes the rounds to sit on every available lap he can find. He has encountered other cats and for the most part ignores them, but he will hiss at large disrespectful dogs. Dalwhinnie was brought to our cat rescue when his owner was no longer able to care for him. A loving foster person took him in, but now Dalwhinnie is ready for his own forever home where he can be loved and pampered.

Dalwhinnie has tested positive for FIV (the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), but he is generally in good health and will likely have a normal lifespan as an indoor-only cat. The virus cant be passed to dogs or to people, and only to other cats through a deep bite wound. He has been diagnosed with early stages of a renal condition and eats a special prescription diet, which he has no problems chowing down on.

Dalwhinnie is a gentle and affectionate fellow who just wants a human friend to enjoy his senior years with. Could you be the one?

Dalwhinnie has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, is negative for FeLV, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners. To meet Dalwhinnie in foster, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy at either Eugene PetSmart location. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 days for a possible meet and greet. The $70 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community.
