Description:
Darren came to foster with his siblings Tabitha and Sam from an animal hoarding situation. All three were very nervous in their new surroundings, ducking for cover as I entered the room, hiding the entire time I was present, and freezing in fear when approached. On the bright side, they rarely hissed, never tried to bite or scratch and cautiously allowed petting. After just a few days Darren started purring at my touch and coming out from hiding to interact. After five weeks in foster, Darren has become a demander of affection! Darren loves affection so much he gets a little jealous when I am trying to show someone else love. Its really cute to see him frantically try to butt in, but he does respond well when I correct him to wait his turn. Darren is an older kitten (5 months), but still a kitten nonetheless. He is very playful, wrestling with his siblings all hours of the day and night, enjoys toys, the tunnel and lounging on the top of the cat tree. Darren didnt start off with the best socialization so now that hes learning to interact with humans he needs reminders of proper etiquette - he will grab my hand in his mouth (gently) to try to lead me away from the others so we are working on being less mouthy. Darren will do best in a quiet home, he still spooks with loud noises, new people or unexpected movements but is being exposed to new things daily and doing fantastic! Darren now comes out of the kitten room to roam the main house, hanging with the dogs and adult cat like hes part of the family. He loves when we all wind-down for the evening, cuddling on the couch. He curls up on my lap or next to my Pitbull and purrs so loud I must turn the TV up. Darren is such a goofy, fluffy, boy full of love and it has been such a joy watching his personality blossom, he will bring a lot of love and laughter to your home.
