Adopt Sutton! This handsome tuxedo has been with me since just a few days before the pandemic started in 2020. Rescued from a hoarding situation and pulled from the NYCACC the day he was to be euthanized, Sutton still carries the trauma of his previous life. And, while he isnt feral, he doesnt like to be touched. (Some people call these cats "show cats.) That said, Sutton has made remarkable progress over the past six months in a socialization program designed to make him less fearful of human touch. Hes gone from a swatty, scared boy to eating treats right out of my hand and receiving full-body pets with treats. You can see how far he has come in the last slide. He needs a patient adopter willing to continue this socialization program and bring him further out of his shell. Someone who understands he may never be a cuddly lap cat but does everything else a housecat does. Sit in the window watching pigeons? Done. Play with toys? Yup. Look cute sleeping on your bed? Hell steal your pillows and not think twice about it; he routinely sleeps at the foot of my bed at night. Im convinced that moving to a quiet home without my resident cats around will help him relax even more. Sutton is about five years old, disease and parasite free and up to date on his vaccinations.
