Description:
Homeless is bad enough but homeless and sick is a lot worse. Momma cat Sky, a mackerel tabby, and her babies Haze, Windy, Stormy and Sunny were dumped outside our rescue. Every kitten was sick and needed medical attention in order to live. Luckily AALOC was able to get them the treatment they needed and all of them are have recovered. They are now ready for new homes!

Mackerel tabbies make great pets. Known as happy-go-lucky cats, they are intelligent and playful as well as clever and entertaining. Famous mackerel tabbies include Morris; The Cheshire Cat; Garfield and Heathcliff; and Jenny-Any-Dots of the musical Cats who sleeps all day because shes been very busy all night being kind and affectionate to others.

Sky’s kittens are adorable – but they are still small and can be easily hurt. So for this reason we are recommending they be adopted into an adult only families or a family with children 12 years or older.

As with most kittens, early human interaction is important to their social development. Play at this stage of a cat’s life is also vital because it increases their physical coordination, confidence and curiosity, and teaches limits while they explore leadership ranking (who’s in charge) and how to be a cat. Sky’s kittens will also need some special attention and care to make sure they grow into a strong felines. Making sure they eat the right food formulated for kitten growth and receives the necessary vaccinations and spaying/neutering during their first year is also important.

Please submit an application to for either Sky the mother cat or one (or more!) of her babies – females Windy and Stormy or males Haze and Sunny at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to get to know this precious feline family during visiting hours (10am to 3pm daily).

PLEASE HELP THE KITTENS: We need special food and litter for these small kittens. If you can please donate Tidy Cat Clumping Litter or Hill’s Science Diet Kitten Food. All items are available for purchase through our Amazon Charity list. Find it at: https://aaloc.org/donate

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
