MY STORY:
Blind Melon was found stray in Stuart, Iowa. Its always sad when a small kitten is found alone on the streets but this kitten was also blind. He must have been so scared. Thank goodness someone contacted the vet and got him to safety. Hes been in our care ever since.

Melon is such a sweet kitten. He LOVES your attention and affection. He LOVES toys. He gets along with others just fine but the other kitties with him now dont seem to understand him. Its sort of sad that he doesnt seem to have many friends. He might be more of a people person and need to companionship of a human although he does absolutely fine with other animals.

Melon needs to have easy access to a litter box. He cannot use a litter box with a top entry; he simply cant find his way in and out of it. He would do best in a home without steps or a home where his access to steps is blocked so he doesnt hurt himself. Otherwise, nothing stops this sweet, handsome boy. He gets around just fine and absolutely loves his play tunnel and toys that make noises.

MEDICAL: Melons eyes continue to be weepy and we are consulting with our vet to determine if full removal is necessary. For now, his foster mom wipes his face daily and applies eye meds. We hope to have answers soon but are still listing him so anyone interested can get approved and will be ready when we get the green light from the vet.

He also came in with ringworm, that annoying fungus. He still has a few spots but we will make sure he is over it and approved for adoption from our vet before we let him go.

MORE DETAILS:
Inside-only home and must keep claws. The adoption fee for this kitty is $100. Adopt a pair of kitties for $150. Each cat and kitten has been: altered (spayed/neutered), vaccinated (age-appropriate) - rabies and distemper combo, microchipped, tested for FeLV (negative unless previously noted), and treated for fleas, ear mites, and worms.

We ask that interested parties fill out a cat adoption questionnaire only if you are seriously considering adopting this sweet kitty. You can get the application by going to our website at "http://www.panorapets.com/adopt"
and clicking on the "Cat Adoption Questionnaire" button at the top of the page. Once you have submitted the questionnaire, an adoption coordinator will contact you usually within 24 hours. Please be patient and thank you for your interest in this kitty.

P.E.T.S. supports the "Paws Need Claws" Campaign. Cats are rather attached to their claws; please do not de-claw your cats.
