Description:
Blue is at our Adirondack Region Cat Adoption Center in Glens Falls, NY.

Blue is one of our longest residents at our Adirondack Region Cat Adoption Center. Hes the most patient cat youll ever meet. He has tolerated so many tests and procedures throughout his time with us, and has never wavered from greeting us with ample purrs and a willingness to play. One of his favorite things to do is to keep our rescue coordinator company on her long car rides. He sits right in the front seat, in his carrier, and is just delighted looking out the windows!

Blue has a few special needs. Firstly, like many white cats with striking blue eyes, he is deaf. This just means you have to be careful when approaching him so he doesnt startle--easy! Before he was rescued he was a colony cat, surviving outdoors. During this time, he suffered an injury causing his tail to become paralyzed. To prevent further damage to his spine from the weight of his tail, it was amputated. This injury also lead to incontinence. This means that he has no control over his bowel movements and requires his bladder to be manually expressed twice daily. But even with our assistance, food sensitivities can cause him to have accidents in his room. He follows a strict diet to try and minimize this. Blue is on a number of different medications to maintain his quality of life, which North Shore Animal League America will cover for the rest of his life.

He has learned to live and thrive with his condition. However, this does narrow down the possibilities of who can adopt him. It would take an experienced cat owner, or someone with a veterinary background. As long as he has a soft bed to curl up in and a window to look out, all is right with his world. He knows how to appreciate the simple things in life.
