Ghost originally came to us in June 2018 as an orphaned bottle baby kitten. He was adopted as an older kitten, but was returned to us as a stray adult that animal control had picked up. Ghosts microchip still showed Acadiana Humane Society as the owner, as his adopter had not registered his microchip to them. So Ghost came back to our rescue. Animal Control updated his vaccinations and he tested negative for FeLV and FIV before he came back to our us over a year ago. We are taking prescreening applications to adopt, or foster, Ghost. He was vaccinated again on July 6, 2022 and is ready for his new home. Ghost is a sweet, chonky boy. He loves to snuggle with humans, and sleeps with his current foster mom. He is a total couch potato and only plays with toys on rare occasions. Ghost is quiet most of the time. He will vocalize when he has something to say. Ghost loves to eat, and doesnt know when to stop, so we recommend a regular, controlled feeding schedule. Hes currently on Wholehearted dry cat food mixed with Taste of the Wild dry food. Hes looking for an indoor home with humans he can call his own. Sponsors are urgently needed to pay his recent vet bills for his vaccinations. Any help is greatly appreciated! http://www.acadianahumane.org/catblogger/donate To be considered to adopt any of our cats, please download our prescreening application from our website at http://acadianahumane.org/catblogger/view-our-adoptable-pets/ Since Covid-19 we started handling all prescreening to adopt any pet through email. Once the emailed prescreening application has been processed, then a volunteer will call or email to set up an appointment to meet the cat youre interested in. Normally a volunteer will bring the cat to the applicants home to meet. If it all works out, then we can do an adoption contract, collect the $100 cat adoption fee, and kitty can stay in his/her new home the same day you meet. Adoption fee may be reduced if kitty has enough sponsors for his/her vet care. If you have any questions, please email ahspets@gmail.com instead of calling. Our volunteers cant always answer calls, so email is the fastest way to get answers. Thank you for understanding.
