Description:
Meet Frank! Hes quite the sweetie, available at Toronto Animal Services North Shelter (please give us a call at 416-338-8723 between 10:30am-6:30pm if you are interested in adopting!) Frank is FIV positive: this is a virus that spreads between cats (it doesnt affect us humans), through bites and scratches typically between territorial, outdoor intact male cats. For this reason and many others, we always recommend spay-neutering your pets and keeping cats indoors-only which can prevent the spread of illness and injury. The good news, though, is that FIV+ cats can live a long, healthy life indoors - sometimes as long as cats that have never been exposed! As part of responsible ownership of an FIV+ pet, Frank will need to be a strictly indoor-only cat and solo in the household (no other cats at home, unless they are also FIV+). Please speak to your veterinarian regarding whether adopting an FIV cat is best for you, and see link below for further information and reading: https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239andid=4951815

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
