Additional Information: Scar is a happy, content, laid-back cat. Dude just wants to chill out, man! Scar is a great, easygoing boy who is grateful for the food and the love. Hes super friendly, likes people (hes figured out more people = more pets), and is curious, but he isnt very high-energy. In fact, Scar spends most of his energy either scratching his horizontal cat scratcher with abandon or demanding that you pet him and give him attention. He likes to play once or twice a day, and hell let you know its play time by bringing you the feather wand or a ball in his mouth. A sure way to win Scars heart is to break out the cat brush. He thinks being brushed is the BEST THING EVER and absolutely loses his mind purring. When all the affection is said and done, Scar will simply lay down nearby to rest to his hearts content, or he might lean right up against you and take a little nap. He will perk up if he sees you heading to the kitchen and will follow and chat with you to see whats happening in the food department. In addition to his magnetic personality, it is easy to fall in love with Scars unique style hes a little bit tuxedo with a funny face and big tomcat cheeks, some character on his nose and ears, and then a cute little bald spot on the back of his neck. (Check out how handsome he is in his photos!). Finally, Scar has a quiet trill and he can have a good conversation or pep talk with you when its needed. So, are you looking for a loving, well mannered, and easygoing feline friend? Apply to adopt Scar! You and this dude can chill out together!

If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is a foster based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. We focus on local adoptions in DC and the metro area of Maryland and Virginia. CDR&CK has a thorough adoption process in order to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first served model).

Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter (unless specified). We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam prior to adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDR&CK. City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.
Cat specific: Rabies, FVRCP, Feline Leukemia vaccines. They are tested for FIV and FeLV, when age appropriate, but not when born to a negative mother in foster care.

Most cats and dogs will have a house training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

We also update our Facebook page daily with new cats and dogs.
