Description:
Raleigh came from a literal hell hole of animal abuse. He was confiscated from a cruel hoarding situation by our local shelter and his previous “owner” was charged. This poor 5 year old boy has never known anything but suffering and fear before he came to us. When he was found many of the cats in his house were already dead on the floor starved to death. He was one of the few survivors, we think because he knew deep down he would find a family that actually loved him one day.

Despite the horrors Raleigh has experienced, he has made huge strides in learning to be a normal cat. He’s gained weight, grown hair in, learned that he won’t ever miss a meal again, and he’s started to even play with toys! The wand toy is his favorite. He also loves hanging out with other cats in his foster home. He’s usually found in his favorite corner of the house cuddling with or grooming his cat buddy. Other cats definitely make him feel more comfortable! Reaching for him makes him nervous because he’s not used to that ending well for him. But once you start petting him he does enjoy it!

Due to the conditions he was raised in, Raleigh is a little funny looking but we think it makes him even more lovable! One eye is smaller than the other but it doesn’t affect him at all. He also has a heart murmur so he does need daily medication, but it is relatively cheap and easy to apply (it goes on his ear). This guy is slow to warm up and will probably always be a pretty shy and nervous boy, but he deserves to have a real family of his own and he wants one. He frequently looks at his foster mom wanting pets but is still too shy right now to come up and ask for them directly. We know one day he’ll get the confidence to get there though!

Please consider being Raleigh’s first real home. Let’s show him somebody out there wants him and that not all people out there are bad.
