Where do you turn when everyone in your life has turned their back on you? Who do you trust when youve been betrayed by so many or disregarded like trash because you were "too difficult" or didnt fit someones perception of the ideal pet? Youre a misfit. Unwanted and unloved. So you find another unwanted and unloved misfit. This is the story of Guy, an 11 year old male senior, and Weeble, a playful, 8-week old female kitten. Guy has lived the majority of his life on the streets in a colony as a TNR (trap, neuter, release). Eventually he was trapped, brought in off the streets, and passed as an adoption candidate at KHS. In 2016, we thought he finally got the chance at a happy life when he was adopted, however, he was found in 2021 once again wandering the streets alone and nobody came looking for him. He found himself once again at the shelter as a stray, however, his fate took a dark turn as they discovered that guy has cancer in his eye, face and ears...with these medical concerns and costs wpuld exceed the resources available to KHS, so they reached out for help. Beauties took him on with the help of a KHS rescue coordinator who offered to be his foster and help him yet again. Guy was lonely and depressed, but when that same coordinator took on a month old kitten with Cerebellar Hypoplasia, the stars aligned, and a beautiful friendship was formed between senior Guy and wobby Weeble. Weeble is learning to adjust to life with a disability. Thankfully, CH is not contagious or terminal and cats can live full, healthy lives with this disability and will adjust. This tiny but mighty girl doesnt let anything slow her down and is just as happy and playful as any other kitten-just perhaps a little less coordinated. Of course, because of her disability and entering the shelter alone and without a family, she was desperate for a playmate who understands being an underdog that is overlooked. Guy stepped in to be her mentor, protector, and friend. This unlikely duo developed an inseparable bond that is so special to witness. Despite their difference in age, they remain understanding, patient, and loving toward each other-one never far away without the other. Guy is patient and kind with her spurts of energy, and gentle when she wants to cuddle for a nap. Two separate lives once regarded as unwanted, have now found someone who loves the other unconditionally. While Weebles CH is easily managed and just causes her to lose balance occasionally, Guy does have some food allergies his future home will have to work around, but overall, this sweet pair is a beautiful mess that will make someones life full of joy and hope. Dont they deserve their happy ending just like everyone else?
